Local Storage
All data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's built-in storage APIs:
- Tab Sessions: Saved locally using Chrome Storage API
- Settings: Preferences stored on your device
- Groups: Tab group information managed by Chrome
This data is only accessible to the extension and is never transmitted outside your browser.
Permissions
SmartTabs requires the following permissions:
- tabs: To manage and organize your browser tabs
- tabGroups: To create and manage tab groups
- storage: To save your sessions and settings locally
- <all_urls>: To access tab information (URLs are not stored)
These permissions are necessary for the extension to function. We do not use them to collect or transmit any data.
Data Security
Your data is stored securely using Chrome's built-in storage mechanisms. Since all data remains on your device:
- No data breaches can occur from our servers (we don't have any)
- Your data is protected by your browser's security
- You have full control over your data
Third-Party Services
SmartTabs does not integrate with any third-party services, analytics platforms, or advertising networks. We do not use cookies or tracking technologies.
Children's Privacy
SmartTabs does not knowingly collect information from children. Since we do not collect any data, this is not applicable.
